An increasing number of voices agree with that and now openly say that C&C also provides a model for the 'containment of other factors and vectors' that are presently inimical to a stable and perhaps sustainable future. I think - I certainly hope - that is helpful.

The UNFCCC are now debating the way ahead beyond 2012 and invited submissions from observer organisations. The proposal is a very straightforward re-statement of how to use C&C as the collective basis of the negotiating framework needed for UNFCCC-compliance.

So if you feel you are able to support the present proposal - I very much hope you do - please will you send me [minima] a one-line e-mail saying just that and I will add your name and affiliation to the list that is being collected and conveyed to the UNFCCC Executive.

With best wishes

Aubrey Meyer
Director
GCI
57 Howard Road
LONDON E17 4SH
http://www.gci.org.uk/Aubrey Meyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00520224179959993258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170175402017087374.post-43334903312517749662011-05-13T01:35:46.308+10:002011-05-13T01:35:46.308+10:00That said, maybe I need to read more. Comparing the ranges isn't helpful in this case.

I haven't read his book (yet) to see his weaknesses. For example, although it is technically true to speak of a "contraction" in the estimates for sea level rise between TAR and AR4, it is quite misleading to compare the numbers directly, since AR4 explicitly leaves out the contributions of dynamical ice flow, which is likely the most important factor.

Thanks for the summary.byron smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17938334606675769903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170175402017087374.post-40213878210860285582011-05-05T10:57:55.716+10:002011-05-05T10:57:55.716+10:00Thanks Aubrey! Thanks Aubrey!Mick Popehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04350141366747415908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170175402017087374.post-17979056567097064462011-05-04T20:59:07.515+10:002011-05-04T20:59:07.515+10:00Here's some polycentric support for C&C pr...Here's some polycentric support for C&C proposition mentioned in point 3 above: -
http://www.gci.org.uk/endorsements.htmlAubrey Meyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00520224179959993258noreply@blogger.com
